Monthly Hike – Lake Abilene

Lake Abilene

Join us the first Saturday of every month for our monthly public hike. Join some of our Big Country Master Naturalist as we lead a hike through the trails at Lake Abilene.  Be sure to check in at the park office then meet us a mile up the road at the Lake Abilene parking lot at 9am. We take a casual hike for roughly 3 hours covered about 5 miles. The hike is an in an out and you can turn around at any time.

We ask you dim headlights when entering swimming pool area so people observing the stars don’t lose their night vision. Join us every 1st Saturday of the month out at Lake Abilene for a 5-mile hike guided by some of the Big Country Master Naturalist volunteers. The hike will start at 9am and usually finishes around noon. Be sure to bring water and to dress for the ever-changing weather. Dogs are allowed if on a leash. Don't forget to bring your 4-legged family member some water, too!
