Join us for our monthly STAR PARTY where some of our Big Country Master Naturalists set up some telescopes out at Abilene State Park and help visitors see stars, planets and the moon. You do not have to have your own telescope to enjoy this event, but you are welcome to bring one, if you have one. If you’ve never come to a star party before, it’s a good idea to arrive shortly before dark so you can see where we are set up. If you come after dark, please be sure to dim your lights when entering the area as the white light does interfere with our night vision. Having a red light flashlight is very helpful, if you have one. Don’t forget that it gets cooler when the sun goes down so be sure to dress for the colder night temps.
