Join our Big Country Master Gardeners for their monthly programs at Abilene Public Library the 2nd Friday of every month for a FREE program. October's program is Seed Salving! Program starts at 6pm and ends usually ends by 7pm. No registration is required. The downtown location is located at 2o2 Cedar Street. There is plenty of parking directly across the street from the library.  

Big Country Master Gardener IN PERSON plant sale Join us IN PERSON on Saturday, October 12th starting at 8am and ending at noon or when all the plants are sold. We will be inside the Modern Living Mall on the Taylor County Expo fairgrounds. Doors open at 8am. Feel free to bring your own wagon. In-Person Private Applicator Training is held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Taylor County Extension office. Cost: $60 – cost incudes training materials required. The Abilene Area Pecan Show will be held on Nov. 21st Pecan Entries: Pecan nut entries will be accepted starting at Nov. 4th - Nov. 19th. The pecan judging will be Thursday, November 21st. Forty-two nuts of same variety in a resealable plastic bag, is requirement for entry. You do not need to know the type of pecan, just that all 42 nuts per variety.
