The Abilene Area Pecan Show will be held on Nov. 21st Pecan Entries: Pecan nut entries will be accepted starting at Nov. 4th – Nov. 19th. The pecan judging will be Thursday, November 21st. Forty-two nuts of same variety in a resealable plastic bag, is requirement for entry. You do not need to know the type of pecan, just that all 42 nuts per variety. Program starts at 10am and ends usually ends by 11am. No registration is required. The downtown location is located at 2o2 Cedar Street. There is plenty of parking directly across the street from the library.

Join us the first Saturday of every month for our monthly public hike. Join some of our Big Country Master Naturalists as we lead a hike through the trails at Lake Abilene. Be sure to check in at the park office and get your parking pass. $5 per person unless you have a park pass. Then meet us a mile up the road at the Lake Abilene parking lot at 9am.
